Sian Southwell’s placement saw her working for ForFarmers in Norfolk, part of the prestigious AHDB Pork Scholarship. While she isn’t from a farming background Sian, BSc (Hons) Agriculture, took on the role of Sales Development and enjoyed gaining vital communications skills.
Her employers at For Farmers said that Sian’s communication skills exceeded all their expectations and praised her for always going above and beyond in any task she was given.
When asked about her placement Sian said: “Being on placement was really helpful in terms of bringing up my confidence to go into my graduate role as I’m not really from a farming background. I really enjoyed seeing a different side to agriculture and get recognition for my placement.”
